Toronto police say they have recovered $10 million worth of counterfeit merchandise in a series of raids on Toronto area retailers.

The seized property included items with high end brand name labels Fitflop Floretta Danmark fitflop such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Armani, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Chanel, Hugo Fitflop Fiorella Danmark Boss and Nike.

Lorne Lipkus, of the Canadian Alliance Against Software Theft, told CTV's Canada AM on Tuesday that took part in the raid, helping police discern between counterfeit goods and genuine articles.

"This was different because we'd never seen a manufacturing and assembling factory in the basement of a store that was selling bridal gowns," he said. The basement of that particular shop, Lipkus said, was filled with counterfeit shoes such as Nike Shox, that were being assembled and repackaged and were almost indistinguishable from the real thing.
